You say you work on a farm,did you have the farm owners permission to hunt on the farm? Is it your farm?
Are you a regular hunter,since you did not know the regulations in your area it appears you are not a hunter but an opportunist.
A good ethical hunter knows the regulations of the areas he hunts and abides by them.

I moved to VA last year due to a military move and couldn't believe how regulated and ridiculous the hunting laws are here. I did the sunday thing once, but fortunately did not shoot anything. It's not easily found in the regs. I had to look multiple times to find it.
Sounds like the cop was a little jealous you bagged one and he didn't! Should have let it go with the land owners' words. Good luck to you.

OOPS just re-read your post. lol I thought you said you hunted on Sunday! Sorry. That sucks about the ticket. I assume you had your gun with you when you crossed the property line? They'll get you every time for that.
