Jake's Venison Kabobs
Jake from Kansas submitted this recipe for grilled venison kabobs a while back. I gave it a try and it was really good. I especially like the sauce he recommends brushing on the skewered meat and veggies when they are almost done cooking. I guess Jack Daniel's isn't just for sipping. Here's Jake's recipe...
Venison and Veggie Kabobs
Ingredients
-
venison backstrap
-
white mushrooms
-
green peppers
-
onions
-
salt
-
pepper
-
bamboo skewers
-
Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce
Cut the venison and the vegetables into bite size pieces and thread onto skewers. Salt and pepper to taste, then grill (in a covered grill) over charcoal. Brush the kabobs with barbecue sauce a few minutes before they come off the grill.
Thanks for submitting your recipe, Jake. As you can see, I gave it a try, and the grilled kabobs came out tasting really good. I grilled over medium heat charcoal so they wouldn't cook too fast.
The Jack Daniel's sauce has a good flavor to it, but I think about any good tasting sauce would be fine. I might try these in the oven next time I make 'em.
